| Transparency that sends a clear message
The FGM offers both individuals and foundations the same opportunity to maximize their resources and minimize the administration costs of fund management. This allows all donors to benefit from the same financial advantages and long-term security—to the ultimate benefit of grant recipients.
In the interest of transparency, the FGM's portfolio is managed by objective, independent, and paid professionals. These managers are subject to the standards of conduct established by the orders and corporations to which they belong, and they answer to an investment committee chosen by the FGM board of directors.
Moreover, to ensure the due and proper election of competent, independent administrators who represent the interests of the FGM's beneficiaries, the FGM has set up a nomination committee composed of a cross-section of society. Among the notable members of this committee are Michel Leblanc, President and CEO, Board of Trade of Metropolitain Montreal, François Rolland, Chief Justice, Superior Court of Québec, Louise Roy, Chancellor, Université de Montréal, Danielle Sauvage, Director and Secretary of the Board, Arts Council of Montreal, Claude Léger, Chairman Centraide of Greater Montreal, Richard Pound, Chancellor, McGill University, Michel Prescott, City Councillor, Jeanne-Mance District, Montréal and Gérald Tremblay, Mayor of Montréal and Chair of the Montréal Metropolitan Community.
Finally, the FGM reports on its activities by publishing an annual report that details its progress in soliciting donors, managing funds, and distributing grants to beneficiaries.
