The Foundation of Greater Montreal Announces the Nomination of New Members to its Board of Directors

Montreal June 22, 2010 - The Foundation of Greater of Montreal (FGM) announces the nomination of four new members to its Board of Directors: Monette Malewski, Isabelle Perras, Richard Pound and François Roy. The FGM Board of Directors has 20 members. It is presided over by Marcel Côté, who is a Founding Partner of SECOR Group Inc.
“We are very pleased to welcome these new members to our Board of Directors. Their expertise in the insurance, financial and public relations areas, knowledge of various communities of Montreal, as well as their philanthropic involvement, fit the objectives of the FGM, which hopes to increase its market and development activities,” says Marcel Côté.
Impressive Roadmaps
Monette Malewski is the President of M Bacal Group. Monette is recognized as one of the leading advisors in the insurance industry. Deeply involved in the community, she is the President of Montréal Relève, as well as the Montreal Chapter of the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Investment Quebec, and Universitas Trust Funds of Canada. She also participates on numerous other boards and organizations in the political, educational, cultural, health, and humanitarian sectors. 
Isabelle Perras is the Vice-President and General Manager of Optimum. She joined Optimum Public Relations, part of the Cossette Communication Group, in January 2008, with a wealth of public relations experience from both the private and public sectors. A Business Administrationgraduate of HEC Montréal (1989), she ran her own public relations agency for 10 years, and has over 20 years of experience in the political, environmental, economic and tourism sectors. Ms. Perras has solid experience in management consulting, as well as in business development. In addition to excelling at public relations and financial communications, she is a specialist in media relations, crisis management, as well as event planning.
Richard Pound is a partner in the Montreal offices of Stikeman Elliott, and is a member of the firm’s tax group. Mr. Pound’s main areas of practice include tax litigation and negotiations with tax authorities on behalf of clients, in addition to general tax advisory work and commercial arbitration. Mr. Pound has been named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world for his relentless efforts to rid sport of performance-enhancing drugs. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Ernest T. Stewart Award and the Laureus "Spirit of Sport" Prize. He is a member of the International Olympic Committee and was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic winter games in Vancouver.
François Roy, until recently, was vice-principal of administration and finance at McGill University. Active in the fields of media and technology, he was the chief financial officer at Télémédia (2000-2003), and the chief financial officer and executive vice president at Quebecor Inc. for over 10 years (1990-2000). He has served on numerous boards, such as la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture.

It establishes and manages permanent endowment funds and distributes their income in the form of grants to charitable organisations working in the areas of health, social services, arts and culture, education, and the environment.
