Invitation to the unveiling of the 2020 Vital Signs of Greater Montreal

Montreal, February 10, 2020 - The President and CEO of the Foundation of Greater Montréal (FGM), Yvan Gauthier, invites you to attend a momentous event in FGM’s 20th anniversary year: the unveiling of a special edition in its series of reports, Vital Signs of Greater Montréal. The event is part of the Bombardier Lunchtime Conferences series presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal (CCMM). The Vital Signs are a unique analytical document that charts progress in the metropolitan region relative to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the first 20 years of the twenty-first century. That progress is at the very heart of what constitutes prosperity and quality of life in Greater Montréal.

This "health check" will provide an overview of the region with regards to every aspect of the SDGs. How is the region doing in terms of hunger and poverty? Are our fellow citizens in good health? How has the education sector progressed? FGM has mandated the Institut du Québec to put together this vital document, and find answers to these questions, along with many others. The Vital Signs are being launched in collaboration with the Fondation Lucie et André Chagnon.
This new edition of the Vital Signs is also an occasion for the next generation of leaders to state their vision of the future in their respective fields, again with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals. In other words, this process will provide our entire community with an opportunity not only to look back at the last 20 years, but also to project itself into the next 10 years, to envisage the Greater Montréal of 2030. That makes it an event you don’t want to miss!
